India's leading sprinter Dutee Chand has expressed her anguish over publication of a report in a national English daily in matter of her receipt of Asiad cash award.
Dutee has made it clear that she has already received her cash prize amounting to Rs 3 crore announced by the Odisha Government. It is unfortunate that the newspaper reported that she has not received it, she said.
Dutee has expressed her concern that it was reported in the paper that she has not received the cash prize being a silver medal winner in the Asian Games. “It is a total lie,” she commented, adding that the report has insulted “my State Government and my sports ability”.
The State Department of Sports has also vehemently protested the report as it is not based on authenticity. “We oppose the news piece in the story titled ”Olympics in mind, Dutee Chand goes for technique overhaul”, said department Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev.
