The Haryana Government has given approval for construction of 11,259 EWS (economically weaker section) flats at a cost of `882.50 crore at various places in the State.
The State Government has made some amendments in Affordable Housing Scheme, said Chief Parliamentary Secretary Bakhshish Singh Virk on Monday. He said that the construction work of 2,920 EWS flats has already been completed. Similarly, the construction work of 21,386 houses for various categories is in progress. There is a plan to construct 3,320 flats in Hisar, 4,928 in Fatehabad, 400 in Agroha, 1,179 in Jagadhari, 924 in Karnal and 498 in Safidon.
In a statement issued, Virk said that the New Integrated licensing Policy-2015 announced by the Haryana Government would find the proper balance between the aspirations of the farmers, landowners, the buyer-consumers of residential plots or flats, the real estate developers and the Government.
He said that it has been proposed in the New Integrated licensing Policy-2015 that builders would have to give 12 per cent of land to government free of cost for construction of affordable houses for economically weaker sections, low income groups and middle class families. After that the government would construct affordable houses for these groups through Housing Board and other authorities of the State, said Virk.
