From morning till 4 pm all shops, banks, post offices, schools and Government offices here were closed as people participated in the Hartal called by the BJD on Friday.
Panchayat Samiti, Tehsil office and other offices were also closed. BJD block president Narayan Chandra Dhal, Minister’s representative Bhaskar Chandra Samal, youth leader Bhisma Narayan Mohanty, Sridhr Swain, Kendrapada ZP president Pradyumna Dash, Manoranjan Samal, Dibakar Nayak and Dasarath Mallick were among those who led the Hartal protesting the Centre’s “step-motherly attitude” towards the State in every aspect.
