Hariprasad responsible for cracks in PCC, says Tara

A day after Student Congress leaders vented their ire on AICC general secretary and party Odisha in-charge BK Hariprasad for not showing “minimum courtesy” to the departed party leader lalatendu (lulu) Bidyadhar Mohapatra, some senior party leaders on Thursday also held Hariprasad responsible for differences and cracks in the PCC.

Opposition Chief Whip in the State Assembly Tara Prasad Baninipati and MlA Jogesh Singh trained their guns at Hariprasad, saying he is responsible for the prevailing situation in the State Congress.

They also said Hariprasad should have met the bereaved family members of lulu Mohapatra.

“There are cracks and dissatisfaction in the party. Had BK Hariprasad wanted and acted properly, no indifferences would have emerged between MlAs and DCC presidents, leader of Opposition and PCC,” said Bahinipati.

He also supported party youths for the protest they staged against Hariprasad on Wednesday.

Moreover, MlA Joegsh Singh said Hariprasad should be stooped to enter Odisha from the airport itself.

“All knows that due to lulu, the Congress came to power in 1995. While a sea of crowd was present during lulu’s funeral, unfortunately none of the Central leaders attended it,” said Singh.

On Wednesday, Student and Youth Congress leaders had barged into a hotel conference hall in the city where Hariprasad andhis deputy Subhankar Sarkar were holding talks with PCC chief Prasad Harichandan and leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra.

On Thursday, taking note of the unsavoury incident, the PCC Disciplinary Committee served a show-cause notice to a PCC secretary, who had accompanied the party youths to confront Hariprasad.
