The All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Sunday appointed AICC general secretary BK Hariprasad as Odisha Congress in-charge in place of Jagdish Tytler, who looked after the State for two years and four months.
Hariprasad is also in charge of the party in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.Besides, in the reshuffle in the AICC, Kalahandi MP Bhakta Charan Das and Rajya Sabha member Rama Chandra Khuntia were appointed as AICC secretaries with additional charges.
Moreover, in view of the Union Ministry reshuffle scheduled on Monday evening, present Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers and Programme Implementation Srikant Jena is speculated to be elevated to be given Cabinet-rank Minister status.
There are also speculations that young Nabarangpur MP Pradip Majhi may be included in the Manmohan Singh Ministry. Majhi told the media that he is not in the race for a Ministerial berth, but it would be better for the Odisha Congress as well as for the State if another person from the State is included in the Ministry.
