Dettol Banega Swachchh India (BSI), by Reckitt Benckiser (RB), Global Interfaith WASH Alliance (GIWA) and Sankalp Taru Foundation together took a pledge to plant  two lakh trees as part of the Dettol BSI SiTi Shield “Har Saans Swachchh” campaign at the Parmarth Niketan Ashram.

This initiative aims to reduce the effects of air pollution by improving the green cover and planting culturally adaptive trees. The selectively chosen trees will provide rural livelihood in identified Ganga Grams of Tehri, Haridwar and Pauri districts and develop green lungs along the cities of Agra and Kanpur.

The tree plantation drive is among the various ongoing efforts of Dettol BSI SiTi Shield campaign to create awareness about the existing air pollution and curbing it.GIWA Foundation is the strategic partner for the campaign with the technical expertise in tree plantation along with volunteers who would create a self-enthusiastic, self-sustainable model.Speaking for RB Health, Gaurav Jain said “The Dettol BSI programme has been a change driver.

It promotes ‘Swachchh Zameen, Swachchh Hawa and Swachchh Pani’ (Clean land, Clean Air and Clean Water). Today we are in this holy land to create awareness about the pressing issue of invisible air pollution and its harmful effects. We are proud to share with you that 30,000 trees have already been planted under the Dettol BSISiTi Shield ‘Har Saans Swachchh’ campaign.”
