After attending the Budget session of the lok Sabha for one day on Friday, arrested MP Ramachandra Hansda on Monday returned to the Jharpada Special Jail here as per the directive of the Odisha High Court. The two CBI officials who escorted the Mayurbhanj lok Sabha member, who was arrested in November last year in the Nava Diganta chit fund case, handed over him to the Jail authorities on Monday afternoon. Jail authorities also conducted medical examination of him. Notably, Hansda had prayed the court to grant him permission to attend Parliament in order to retain his membership. As per law, a seat is declared vacant if the member fails to attend House once in 60 consecutive days.
