To provide a marketing platform to various handloom makers, the Odisha State Handloom Weavers Co-operative Society ltd (Boyanika) is organising a 19-day-long ‘Special Handloom Expo’ at the Exhibition Ground here from Wednesday.
Handloom makers like Primary Weavers Co-operative Societies/SHGs, Serifed, Sambalpuri Bastralaya and Boyanika would sell different handloom products at the Expo.
The Boyanika has proposed to organise 82 exhibitions covering one National Handloom Expo and five Special Handloom Expos during the year 2014-15. The ‘Special Handloom Expo’ to be held from August 13 to 31 is one of these exhibitions, informed an official release. Handloom, Textiles & Handicrafts Minister Snehangini Chhuria is scheduled to inaugurate the Expo at 6 pm.
