RAAS, a joint-venture of noted Odia artist Rashmi Mohapatra and internationally-acclaimed fashion designer Pritam Panda, opened its high-fashioned handloom design studio at Patia here on Wednesday.
The fashion studio with an aim to give an exposure to the exquisite traditional skills of weavers and artisans in the State offers the best of handlooms and contemporaries with a modern touch and taste.
The launching of the facility also marks opening of an exhibition of a collection of its newest creations of Anarkali dresses, Kurtis, Sarees, lehengas and many more trendy designers wear with each piece being created by combining the traditional weaving technique of Ikat, Bomkai, Sambalpuri, Pasapalli and other weaving styles of the State with latest fashions and design trends.
In men’s category, one can get half and full sleeved jackets, over coats made of traditional silk with Ikat, Pasapalli and Bomkai-patterned stitches.
