locals of the Palasuni area in the city recovered two bundles of half-burnt money receipts of chit fund company SlB Invest India ltd from the bank of river Kuakhai here on Thursday.
According to reports, the locals saw two people with two bundles of papers coming out of an Alto car and setting fire to the paper bundles after placing them near the riverbank.
When they saw locals coming towards them, they fled from the spot. The people recovered the papers belonging to the SlB company having its office at Nayapalli in the city.
“When we were busy fishing, we saw in the morning two people fleeing from the spot after torching some papers on the riverbank,” said a fisherman of nearby village, who had gone fishing in the area. He said they fled the spot after disposing the papers.
