The Dharma Raksha Sena on Saturday submitted a memorandum to Governor Prof Ganeshi lal alleging that Koraput Congress MlA Krushna Chandra Sagaria made a derogatory speech against Hindu religion and demanding action against him.
“KS Sargaria changed his religion and joined Buddhism along with some people at Burja of laxipur block recently. During his joining (Buddhism), Sargaria insulted Hindu religion by using slangs against Hindu gods and goddesses,” alleged Sena members.
A team comprising Dharma Jagaran Samannway Samiti president Chandrakant Pradhan, Ramesh Das, Sudhansu Jena, and Jnana Ranjan Swain submitted the memorandum.
They alleged that Sagaria misused his MlA position and instigated others to change their religion and embrace Buddhism. However, he didn’t take any permission from the district administration for change of his and others’ religion, which is mandatory as per law. And during the course of conversion, Sagaria and his followers made derogatory remarks against Hinduism and its tradition and gods and goddesses, they alleged.
They demanded that the MlA status of Sagaria be made null and void as he has lost his caste after accepting Buddhism, which has no Scheduled Caste or sub-caste system.
“Sagaria can’t continue as MlA as he represents a reserved (SC) seat. He has also committed a blunder by misusing his power as an MlA and instigating others to change religion,” demanded the Sena.
