Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal has ordered a Vigilance inquiry against Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) Vice-Chancellor Surendranath Pasupalak.
The directive has been issued by the Raj Bhavan to the State Chief Secretary asking him to submit a report within six weeks after the probe by the Vigilance department into the allegations levelled against the head of the State’s premier agriculture education institution.
The order came on two petitions filed by former OUAT Assistant Registrar Pramod Kumar Jena against Prof Pasupalak.
In the petitions, Jena has accused Pashupalak of misusing his position, manipulating the records for his personal benefits and erroneous advertisement in recruitment for the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVKs) of OUAT.
The petitions were addressed to the Minister for Agriculture and Panchayati Raj and Pro-Chancellor, who forwarded it to the Governor, who is the Chancellor of the university.
