A day after it was reported that Governor Dr SC Jamir was unwell, the Raj Bhavan in a release on Friday stated that he is completely fit and had visited the city-based Apollo Hospitals for a regular checkup.

The release further said the Governor is able to do official works smoothly. Earlier in the day, the Governor was discharged from the hospital.

Notably, it was reported on Thursday that Jamir had been admitted to the hospital after his health condition deteriorated following some days’ of uneasiness since October 15. He complained of chest pain and also faced some discomfort while eating, it was reported.

Cardiac specialist of the hospital Dr Prashanta Kumar Sahu had stated that although the condition of the Governor was stable, he had been kept under observation.

“After preliminary checkups, we found that the Governor had sustained a mild attack earlier today (Thursday) morning. Since heart attack is very unpredictable, he will remain under observation today,” Sahu had said.

All the necessary tests like ECG and blood tests have been performed and the Governor was communicating well. All the reports were normal except a mild change in ECG report. If his health showed signs of improvement then he might be discharged by Friday, Dr Sahu had added.
