Governor and Chancellor of Universities Dr SC Jamir here at the ninth convocation function of North Odisha University (NOU) recently urged all the stakeholders to focus on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Clean India, Make in India and Skill India thereby facilitating an emerging society. Focusing on quality education, the Governor called upon the student mass to work for elimination of superstition in the society and betterment of tribal people.
Attending the event as the chief guest Viswa Bharati University Vice Chancellor Prof Sushanta Duttagupta highlighted the importance of quality education while NOU VC Prafulla Kumar Mishra gave the welcome address.
On the occasion, five persons were awarded with doctorate degree while 30 candidates felicitated with PhD and one student with DSc degree. As many as 18 students were awarded with gold medal for their outstanding level and 9,462 students were given degree certificates for 2013-14 academic session.
