Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal has expressed deepest condolences over the loss of lives due to a landslide in Gajapati district, describing the incident as unfortunate.
He advised the Government to expedite relief operation and pay assistances to victims of Cyclone Titli and the aftermath floods.
“The Cyclone Titli and subsequent severe floods have wrecked the State, causing casualties, loss of property and homelessness. Along with restoration of supply of drinking water, road connectivity and power, there is also an urgent need to closely monitor the situation to avert outbreak of any water-borne disease by the Health Department,” said the Governor.
He asked asked all concerned departments to work in coordination with each other and take every step to mitigate untold miseries suffered by people in flood affected areas and bring normalcy in all these areas.
