The Mahan Sangh and the Rotary Mid Town Club-Brahmapur jointly organized Guru Divas at “Biswaniketan” near Ramachandrapur under Gopalpur Police circle here. The meeting was jointly chaired by Mahan Sangh president Sushant Sabat and former president of Rotary Mid Town Club-Brahmapur Rotarian Prof D Satyanarayan Subudhi.
Speaking on the objectives of an Old Age Home of Mahan Sangh, its president Sushant Sabat said that Mahan Sangh as a part of its social service has built up the house on 8,700 sqft land at Ramachandrapur on August 15, 2010. The existing 35-seated dormitory has now accommodated 14 old aged persons and the same is currently being run exclusively out of Mahan Sangh membership contribution, he added.
The Mahan Sangh is going to construct its second block with 20-more rooms with all facilities in which the intending old aged persons would be accommodated on payment basis. In order to enable the inmates to stay in this complex as a family, we are going to expand capacity for 100 more orphans and destitute.
Prof KC Panda, who was chief guest, hailed the efforts of Mahan Sangh. Keeping in mind the rise in the number of youth migrating abroad over the years and their elderly left to fend for themselves back home, these old age homes will be of a great help particularly to those elderly who are abandoned by their family members having chronic diseases.
Rotarian Prof D Satyanarayan Subudhi in his address urged upon the audience to be more disciplined and punctual.
