The Gujarat police for the second time on Wednesday took arrested Oscar Group of Companies chairman Pravash Rout on a nine-day remand in connection with several cases pending against him in a Valsad court in Gujarat.
Arrested by the Odisha police in June this year from New Delhi, Rout was also taken on a 15-day remand by the Gujarat police in July-August.
A special court here dealing exclusively the cases pertaining to chit fund scam allowed the plea of the Gujarat police to take him on further remand as he had allegedly cheated several people of that State.
Along with Rout, the Gujarat police also took Oscar Group managing Director Muna Patra on remand for questioning. Patra was also arrested by the Odisha police earlier.
