The Puri Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court here granted the Government Railway Police (GRP) to take Subhas Ramchandran, prime accused in the train arson case, on a six-day remand.
GRP sleuths would take the accused on remand from Thursday. This is the second remand extension of Tamil Nadu-based Subhas after the court granted six and three days of remand on November 18 and November 27, respectively.
Meanwhile, a three-member team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday visited the Puri railway station where the accused allegedly set three empty trains on fire and verified the CCTV footage of the blaze incident.
As the accused remains a suspected element for the security agencies of many parts of the country, his remand was necessary to extract .truth from him and know his possible terror link.
