Vice-Chairman of the Anandpur Municipality Suresh Sahu was arrested on Wednesday in Bhubaneswar for his alleged involvement in a group clash during the Raja procession at Ghasipura in Keonjhar district.
Earlier, locals had gheraoed the local police station demanding immediate arrest of the persons involved in the violence during the procession on last day of the three-day Raja festival.
On the day, two groups had scuffled and clashed for which Sahu was alleged to be the main conspirator. Two youths were injured and three trolley rickshaws were torched during the group clash in Ghasipura.
