Odisha Sabuja Patrika Mahila Mahasangh (OSPMM) on Monday submitted a memorandum to Governor SC Jamir with signatures of one lakh green card holders for fulfilment of several demands. Mahasangh president laxmidevi alleged that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik did not consider their demands.
Earlier, attending their meeting as guest of honour, Utkal Bharat president Ayira Kharabela Swain said the State Government should implement their promises as mentioned in green card while issuing them to the green card holders lest the beneficiaries would lose their confidence on the Government.
Addressing the gathering, Odisha Samajwadi Party president Rabi Behera said as criminal proceedings are being initiated against the chit fund companies for their false assurance, the same proceedings may be initiated against the Government for its false commitment in the green card. Former MP Sivaji Pattnaik said the Government should carry out their own commitment for the betterment of the green card holders in the State.
Scribe Rabi Das said there are around 16 lakh of green card holders in the State but they should not be made a victim of deceit. Among others, PCC Mahila Congress president Bijayalaxmi Sahu and Pandit Prabodh Mishra participated. Around 10,000 green card holders had turned up to the meeting venue.
