The Ganjam and Phulbani Chemists’ and Druggists’ Association (GPCDA) would participate in the nationwide bandh on September 28 called by the All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) and Utkal Chemists’ and Druggists’ Association (UCDA) protesting the proposed changes in the Drugs Act and the move to bring in online pharmacies.
This was informed by Ganjam and Phulbani Chemists and Druggists Association president Bishnu Prasad Panda through a Press release.
Panda said the e-pharmacy system would also affect the livelihood of eight lakh chemists including 18,000 chemists of Odisha as many owners, workers and their families of the drug houses are dependent on it.
