Members of the Gajapati District lawyers’ Association called off their agitation after staging a dharna before the tehsildar office here for a few hours on Tuesday pressing for fulfilment of a 21-point charter of demands.
The lawyers withdrew their strike after Paralakhemundi Deputy Collector Anam Charan Patra, under the direction of the Gajapati Collector, assured them to take steps regarding fulfilment of their demands within 15 days.
Association president Subash Chandra Rao said future steps would be taken if the demands are not fulfilled within 15 days. Among others, association secretary Suresh Patnaik and senior advocates Sailata Shreeramulu, KC Panda, Gouradas Majhi and KN Panda were present.
