Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday arrested Khordha district’s Banpur block Niladriprasad GP PEO Naba Kumar Das for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 30,000 from Santosh Sahoo of Aranga village to process a file for passing of his bill.
Sahoo had constructed shop house at Niladriprasad under the Market Complex Finance Committee Scheme. To clear his bill, the PEO had demanded bribe.
Acting on his complaint, Vigilance officers laid a trap and nabbed Das red-handed while taking Rs 30,000 from Sahoo in the GP office. The investigation was still in progress, said an official release.
