The Bharatiya Bikash Parishad on Sunday alleged that the State Government has prepared a Bill to provide valuable encroached Government lands to BJD leaders, Ministers, MlAs, Government officers, private company owners at throwaway prices in major cities.
“The Government has turned out to be unconstitutional and anti-people. It has decided to hand over more than 4 lakh acres of land to people other than slum dwellers at throwaway prices in cities like Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack, Baleswar, Rourkela, Samablpur and Berhampurt ,” alleged Parishad president Surendra Panigrahi in a Press meet here.
Panigrahi said Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Maheshwar Mohanty had revealed about the proposed Bill at a meeting here on July 7, 2018.
“The Odisha land Grabbing Prohibition Ordinance 2015 was rejected by the President. The State Government is preparing to send the Bill again to the Governor for approval. We urge that the Governor should not to accept the Bill as it will benefit BJD leaders, Ministers, MlAs, Government Officers and private company owners only,” he said. Among others, senior lawyers Sudhansu Sekhar Panda and Shiba Prasad Mishra and BJP leader Prabhat Kiran Sadangi were present.
