Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi has asked the officials of the State Government for automating the procedures of service delivery through application of the e-office system.
The e-office platforms have been initiated by the Government for ensuring timely delivery of public services under the Odisha Right to Public Service Act.
In a series of soft initiatives taken by the Government over last one year, the e-offices have been made operational in Odisha Mining Corporation, Ganjam Collectorate, office of the Mayurbhanj Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), State Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training and in piloting of the online issuance of public services.
According to information, a Common Application Portal (CAP) for delivery of hassle-free public services has also been made operational in the General Administration Department. Through the CAP, citizens can submit application forms online for delivery of the notified services.
The GA Department can track the date of submission of the application along with the date of delivery of the service.
The system also provides for appeal and imposition of penalty on defaulting officers, said sources, adding that so far Rs 4 lakh has been collected as fine under the Odisha Rights to Public Services Act.
