Shree Jagannath Temple Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Suresh Mohapatra on Wednesday said the State Government would consult Puri Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati before preparing for Nabakalebar and Rath Yatra in 2015.
The decision was taken in a meeting conducted by the committee formed by the State Government for management of Nabakalebar festival. The meeting discussed about infrastructure development of the area including better road and rail connectivity.
Notably, the Shankaracharya had created a controversy during Rath yatra this year by not mounting chariots for darshan while breaking away the tradition. Despite repeated appeal from the State Ministers, the Puri seer stayed away from the chariots.
