6 of 20 injured admitted to RGH
A team of the State Government officials led by RWD Chief Engineer visited the collapsed under-construction bridge over a nullah on the Jamudihi-Kunjpani road under Bonei subdivision in Sundargarh district on Monday and conducted an on-the-spot inquiry.
Although the team didn’t reveal anything, it was informed that weak centring work was the reason behind collapse of the under-construction bridge that left 20 workers injured on Sunday afternoon.
Six of the injured are now undergoing treatment at the Rourkela Government Hospital and their condition is reported to be stable.
Following the report of bridge collapse, the State Government formed a team comprising RWD Chief Engineer BN Mishra, RWD Superintendent Engineer SN Mohanty and some local administrative officials.
“The Chief Engineer and Superintendent Engineer visited the spot and conducted an inquiry into the matter on Monday. They will submit a report to the State Government soon,” said RWD Executive Engineer KK Mishra.
