Even as there is legislation that children have to take care of their old parents till death, an instance of violation of the law by none other than a Government servant working at Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) has come to the fore.

A senior citizen and resident of Gadakantunia village under the Balianta police station, lingaraj Jena, has alleged that his only son Ajay Kumar Jena , working as a peon in SPCB is torturing him and his wife.

Ajay even allegedly brutally assaulted his father and mother and drove them out of their Gadakantunia house in 2009. Now they are staying in rent at the house of one Gopabandhu Sahoo in Nuagaon Road in the city, said lingaraj

Ajay allegedly with the dishonest intention to grab his parental property, fraudulently by impersonating some other person as his father managed to obtain a power of attorney and then sold all the property to his wife.

Basing on the allegation of lingaraj, the Balianta police, registered a case under Sections 420/468/471 of IPC against Ajay vide the PS case No 44(10) dated March 22, 2010.  However, Ajay managed to get bail and is now facing trial in the case.

lingaraj alleged that recently Ajay with an intention to murder him and his wife went to their rented house and without any cause abused them in filthy language and threatened to murder them.

Due to their old age lingaraj and his wife is suffering-from various diseases. Apprehending danger to his life, he is unable to look after my landed property in his native village Gadakantunia and unable to maintain himself and his wife in the pension money.

lingaraj finding no way other way out has sought the Chief Minister’s intervention for an impartial inquiry and direction to the concerned officers for stringent action against Ajay.

He has written to the Khordha district Collector, Director General of Police, SPCB Member Secretary and local Tehsildar for suitable action against Ajay, who has made his life miserable in old age.
