Revenue Minister Bijayshree Routray on Wednesday informed the State Assembly that the State Government has taken back all lands at Ghangapatna on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar allegedly possessed by the Gokarneswar Charitable Trust.
During the Question Hour, the Minister said the Gokarneswar Charitable Trust had bought four plots under Ghangapatna mouza from Amod Mohapatra, Narasingha Mohapatra, Haribandhu Naik and Rama Muduli.
Stating that the plots originally belonged to people from SC category, the Minister said the sellers had got approval from the Khordha district Sub-Collector to sell the plots in 1986 and 1987. In the turn of events, the Bhubaneswar Additional Collector cancelled the leases and ordered to include the plots under Government record book in August 1998.
However, in 2009 and 2010, these plots were registered in the name of Gokarneswar Charitable Trust, Routray added. The State Government made amendment in the records in 2014 and took possession of the plots, he told the House.
