Govt land to be allotted to aided schools, colleges

Published on:

The State Government is considering to provide land to aided schools and colleges, informed Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Maheswar Mohanty.

A letter has been written to both School & Mass Education and Higher Education Departments asking to provide details regarding the areas of land under occupation of the educational institutions, the number of students and the pending dues to the Revenue Department.

The policy would be prepared soon based on the data collected from the School & Mass Education and Higher Education Departments, Mohanty said.

As per the decision at a meeting held here on Wednesday, the land would be handed over to the concerned departments instead of allotting directly to the educational institutions, he said.

Besides, the district Collectors have been asked to furnish the details at earliest to the Revenue Department in a particular format about value of the lands occupied by the grant-in-aid and block grant schools and colleges in the districts.
