With more migrants stranded in different parts of the country set to return to Odisha and be kept in institutional quarantine at the Temporary Medical Camps (TMC), the State Government has issued a set of additional guidelines for management of the TMCs.
The new guidelines are aimed to ensure containment of spread of the Covid-19 at the TMCs and quarantine centres.
In a letter to the district Collectors and Commissioners of Municipal Corporations and Executive Officers of other Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Additional Chief Secretary Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra intimated them regarding the guidelines and asked them to follow the same meticulously.
The list of additional guidelines:
The Do’s and Don’ts (in Odia) for occupants at TMCs as annexed herewith is to be displayed at all TMCs and to be followed strictly therein.
After initial screening, all symptomatic cases are to be isolated from the rest of the inhabitants and should be segregated and shifted to Covid Care Centres (CCC). Some of the un-occupied quarantine centres may be converted into CCCs if adequate CCCs are not available. Collectors shall ensure that this is strictly implemented.
All vulnerable groups like pregnant and lactating mothers, under-5 children, physically and mentally-challenged persons, transgenders and persons with age above 60 years and co-morbid conditions (diabetes, asthma, kidney disease or hypertension) are to be tested for Covid-19 on a priority basis. They are then to be discharged for home quarantine if found negative.
Where possible, TMCs are to be kept under CCTV surveillance to ensure compliance to social distancingnorms.
