Govt humiliating Puri seer: OSS

Published on:

The Odisha Suraksha Sena (OSS), a social organisation, lashed out at the State Government for interfering in the religious matter of Hindu society and humiliating its religious head Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati of Puri.

Talking to reporters here, OSS legal Cell chief Gajendra Behera said the High Court last year in its order directed the State Government not to interfere in the religious affairs and also asked the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) to consult the Shankaracharya on religious matters.

“The order came on July 2 last year, but the State Government is yet to implement it in letter and spirit,” said Behera and added that the Sena would go to the court against the Government for not obeying the order in the religious issue.

He also alleged that the State Government has started playing with the sentiment of Hindus by interfering in religious matters which is against the Constitution of India.
