Govt has failed in all fronts: BJP

Published on:

A day after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik visited Kendrapada, the district unit of the BJP on Wednesday gheraoed the Collectorate alleging the Government’s gross neglect of the district.

later, addressing a gathering, BJP State president Basant Panda said the State Government has failed in all fronts. From the Nagada child deaths, Japanese Encephalitis and handling of the Mahanadi waters issue, the State Government has failed miserably.

Panda further said the district has become a safe heaven for criminals and the law and order situation has deteriorated alarmingly. The State Government has failed to develop the district. Now, it has earned the dubious distinction of standing fourth in terms of poverty in the State.

He also criticised the faceoff between the supporters of the local MP Baijayant Panda and Mahakalpada MlA Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak during the visit of the Chief Minister and said the Naveen Patnaik Government is run by criminals.

It lags behind other districts in terms of education and health. The block office, tehsil office and police stations have become a favourite place for some unscrupulous employees to fatten their pockets. The Chief Minister had come to the district only to hoodwink the people by laying foundation stones for several projects spending crores of rupees, alleged the Saffron Party leaders.

The State Government is neck deep in corruption and failed to provide relief to the people of the State from the problems they are facing. The Government has failed in addressing the problems related to agriculture, health and social justice.

Due to the encouragement from the State Government, the chit fund accused have looted money from lakh of gullible investors and several families are now on the streets. Having failed to spend the Central funds, the State Government has been hijacking the Central schemes and getting political benefits, the leaders alleged.

Earlier, hundreds of BJP workers had come in a procession from the Ram Mandir at Tinimuhani Square to the Collectorate. Among others, party leaders Bijoy Mohapatra, Pruthviraj Harichandan and Dilip Mallick also spoke.
