Govt following Pipili case forcefully: Naveen

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday said the State Government is following the Pipli gangrape and murder case very forcefully to ensure justice to the victim.

The statement of Patnaik came soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted the State Government over the issue. While addressing a public meeting at Baripada, the Prime Minister said the State Government should probe the Pipili gangrape and murder case again to ensure justice for the victim.

Notably, the 19-year-old dalit girl was allegedly gangraped at Arjungoda village under the Pipli police station of Puri district on November 29, 2011. Later, the accused were acquitted by a court.
