The Utkal Sammilani has alleged that due to the State Government’s dillydallying attitude in according State Anthem status to Bande Utkal Janani, the patriotic song is disregarded since long.
“While the general public has already recognised the song as the State’s anthem, the State Government is yet to take a decision in this regard, as a result of which singer Ruturaj Mohanty can dare to disrespect the song,” said Sammilani Mancheswar Industrial Estate branch head Dillip Dashsharma through a Press release here on Monday.
Many committees have been formed at the State Assembly and Government levels to accord the State Anthem tag to the song since 2002, but the song is yet to be recognised, said Dashsharma.
