The State is gearing up to celebrate the 72nd Republic Day on January 26. While the State-level celebration would be held in Bhubaneswar with unfurling of the National Flag, the auspicious day would be observed in all district headquarters.
As per a list of chief guests who would attend the Republic Day ceremony, Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal is scheduled to hoist the Tricolour in the State capital Bhubaneswar and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik grace the occasion as guest of honour. Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari would be chief in Cuttack and Forest and Environment Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha in Puri.
Other Ministers and the district Collectors would also unfurl the National Flag at several places on the Republic Day. In view of Covid-19, the Republic Day would be celebrated without participation of students and NCC cadets in the parades. Only police contingents would take part in the programmes.
