The Puri district administ-ration on Wednesday took pos-session of the 40-acre land in Gop tehsil of the district allegedly grab-bed by suspended IPS officer and former Kendrapada SP Satish Gaj-bhiye’ wife Ranjana. The action followed after she failed to comply with the Govt directive asking her to vacate the land within one mo-nth.Revenue officials, who under-took the land reclaiming exercise on Wednesday, said the Govt freed the land of encroachment since Ranjana and her associates did not vacate the land within the stipulated period. The land had been measured on January 30. As per allegations, she had occupied lands in two villages besides seven acres of land purchased in her name. She had allegedly encroa-ched nearly 70 acres of adjacent Govt land for pisciculture.
