The Patrician Group’s Aradhana Academy organised a two-day Gotipua dance festival here on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was the group’s second attempt at promoting the dance since last year.
The dancers gave the crowd a pleasing and stupefying performance. The dance started with standing ovation to Suramani Pandit Raghunath Panigrahi and was followed by various forms of Gotipua.
The first performance was “dekho go radha madhaba chali” by the troupe of the Aradhana Dance Academy. The specialists also performed ‘saja kunja nayanna kunja, karigamana ture’ and forms of bandha nrutya.
The second performance was by Maa Jagullai Annapurna Gotipua Nurtya Parishad, Puri. During the inaugural function, dance Gurus Snhenaprava Ray, Tamasharani Mohapatra, Aruna Mohanty, Nabakishore Mishra, Gobinda Pal and Minakhi Behera were present.
