The Ganjam district administration on Saturday sealed Hotel Mayfair at Gopalpur for allowing a marriage to be held in its premises in violation of Covid-19 guidelines.
The bridegroom, barats and parents didn’t use facemask and maintain social distancing.
The hotel has been sealed for seven days.
The administration also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the hotel.
Later, the Gopalpur police arrested the bridegrooom, his father and three uncles for violating Covid guidelines during the marriage procession.
The matter came to light after the visuals of the marriage procession went viral on the social media that showed participants dancing together without maintaining social distancing and wearing masks.
The Regional Transport Office (RTO) has also impounded the vehicle in question.
