Advocate Gopal Krushna Mohanty has been elected as the president of the Orissa High Court Bar Association. In the association election held on Saturday, Mohanty defeated his nearest rival Budhhadev Routray by a margin of only 21 votes. Mohanty polled 1,135 votes and Routray 1,114 votes.
Sanjay Kumar Das, who had narrowly lost to Satyabrata Mohanty in last year’s election for the general secretary post, won it this year defeating his nearest rival Manoj Kumar Khuntia.
Piyush Kumar Mishra was elected as the vice-president and Jateswar Naik as joint secretary.
