As announced by the Government of India, the Good Governance Day was observed at the East Coast Railway on Thursday.
A seminar and power-point presentation on the characteristics of good governance was organised. All the officers and staff present at the seminar were asked to prepare an action plan for a transparent and accountable working. Use of information and technology in day-to-day working was emphasised at the seminar. The complaint management system through e-mails and social media was also discussed for further improvement. The discussions centred around the main characteristics of good governance are accountability, transparency, responsibility, participative approach that follow the rule of law, equitable, inclusive, effective and efficient participation and should have straight vision.
