The much-awaited annual Golden Beach Festival would begin at Chandipur in Baleswar district on Thursday and continue for four days.
The fest would witness cultural programmes on each evening to be presented by artistes from the State and outside. Dances like Chhau, Ranapa, Kathak, Bharta Natyam, Kuchupudi, Ghumar and Bihu would be performed. The festival will certainly attract tourists to the beach, said committee secretary Bismay Mohanty.
Defence units, including the Proof and Experimental Establishment(PXE) and Integrated Test Range(ITR), have evinced interest to put up stalls at the venue to showcase guns, artillery and missiles. Similarly, the Textiles, Handlooms and Handicrafts Department would open counters to sell products at discount rates.
