The Godavarish Mahavidyalaya here observed death anniversary of eminent educationalist Pandit Godavarish Misra alongside its 52nd foundation day on Saturday.
Founder of the Utkal University, Pandit Godavarish tried his best for boosting education in the State as per his long vision. Besides being an educationist, he was a writer of eminence and his literary works in Odia provide guidance to the new writers, said former Professor of the Delhi University laxmi Narayan Mishra. Prof Hariprasad Kanunogo of FM Autonomous College spoke on the political and literary background of Godavarish.
College president and former MlA Raghunatha Sahoo presided over the function in the presence of Principal Dr Dinesh Prasad Mishra. Besides, the Chilika Sahitya Samaj here also observed the day with its president Siv Misra presiding over the event.
