There are lots of similarities between two coastal States of Odisha and Goa although one is in the east and the other is in the west, respectively.

There are ample of opportunities to explore the unique culture potential and exchanges between the States, observed Deputy Speaker of the Goa legislative Assembly Vishnu Surya Naik Wagh, while addressing a gathering here. He attended the function of Guru Harekrushna Behera College of Art and Culture on the occasion of its 15th annual day held at Gandhi Smruti Bhawan here.

“Goa has its unique dance, drama and culture.  It is very rich and home to several eminent artists and legends, including Mangeskar family. Henceforth, there would be culture exchanges between Odisha and Goa. From the coming beach festival onwards, the troupes from Goa would be sent to Odisha to showcase the rich culture and similarly from Odisha troupes should visit Goa,” said Vishnu Nayak.

“I very delighted to see that Odisha has a college for art and culture and also a university for the same. It is a new thing I came across,” he said adding the district has earned its distinction due to its miles receding behaviour.

Prof Debendranath Jena, Vice Chancellor of Utkal University of Culture, Odisha, attending the function as another guest, said the art and culture has a priceless value across the globe when there was unrest everywhere. The music therapy can play a wonderful role in healing and curing the patients under trauma, he said.

The meeting while presided over by former MlA Arun Dey. Among others, Sadar MlA JP Dash, Nilgiri MlA Sukanta Nayak,  social worker Subasini Jena , columnist Kishor Diwbedi, industrialist Trilokya Mishra, Aaji Kali Editor Bismoy Mohanty and college principal Kaberi Behera were present.
