Finally, MlA Dilip Ray’s speculation proved right when the price bid for the proposed second Brahmani bridge was opened on Tuesday. Source said Hyderabad-based GKC Project ltd became l1 by quoting the price for Rs 381.75 crore, which is 20% less than the offer price of Rs 476.56 crore.
After the opening of the bid, Ray said it would dispel any lingering doubt about commencement of bridge work as the tendering process was finally completed and the work was assigned to the Hyderabad firm.
It was his view that there should be finalisation of tender and allotment of work order before the project’s foundation-stone is laid on July 21, he said.
