Give up Home Dept: Pyari to Naveen

Published on:

As a Home Minister, Naveen Patnaik has failed to control the law and order situation, especially violence against women. So, he should leave the post,” said Odisha Jan Morcha president Pyarimohan Mohapatra here on Saturday.

Mohapatra said the persons who were involved in the cases of Pipili gangrape and murder and Madhabilata death and now accused in the Itishree murder case should be brought to book. “I think this work is not possible by the Crime Branch. The cases should be handed over to the CBI immediately for proper inquiry,” he said.

On the Cuttack relief loot issue, Mohapatra demanded that the State Government arrest all the culprits. “Why is the ruling party protecting the relief looters,” he asked, “The Government has been telling in front of the media that it distributed relief to all the affected families, but it is not true.”

On his campaign and political agenda, Mohapatra said the OJM would continue its Jan Adhikar Yatra in all the 147 Assembly constituencies. Party workers would go to people and ask for their votes for the party for development of the State. If the party comes to power, it would mainly work on a three-point agenda, right to employment, procurement facilities in farmers’ villages, decentralisation of power by making each and every village a gram panchayat, he added.
