With the general elections fast approaching, Congress workers of Parlakhemundi Assembly constituency have demanded party ticket for former MlA Trinath Sahoo’s wife Chhayabati Sahoo.
Stating that the Congress organisation in Gajapati district, particularly in Parlakhemundi Assembly constituency, is growing weak day by day after the death of Trinath Sahoo, who was a four-time MlA, the party workers urged the party State and Central leaderships to give ticket to his wife Chhayabati to revive the party.
During Trinath Sahoo’s tenure, Congress occupied the Gajapati Zilla Parishad for the first time. But due to some reasons, he was defeated in 2009 elections and later died. But still now he occupies a special place in the hearts of thousands of Parlakhemundi denizens. If a party ticket would be given to his wife, definitely she will win and the Congress again will be powerful, the workers stated. They urged the high command to consider the ground reality and ensure a ticket for Trinath’s wife.
