Members of the Nuapada District Forum for Retired Non-Government Aided Educational Institutions have submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister drawing his attention to the discrimination meted out to them by the Education Department in providing pension at par with the retired staffs of Government colleges.

“The State Government had duly notified on September 7, 2017 to revise the pensions of retired staffs of aided educational institutions from January 1, 2016; but strangely Higher Education Department vide order no 16-3-18 decided to pay the arrears from October 1, 2017.

This is a clear denial of due entitlements of thousands of senior citizens who rendered valuable services for the nourishment of educational environment of the State.

It amounts to denial of natural justice” stated the memorandum.

The forum has appealed to the Chief Minister to reconsider their demand for revision and payment of arrear from April 1, 2016 by repealing the order of March 16, 2018. The forum has also appealed for reconsideration of the unjust fixed gratuity for staff members who would retire in future.
