The present pandemic has created lots of inconvenience and crises for the marginalised sections. The daily labourers, small farmers and petty shop businessmen are going through severe difficulties. Their children are at the receiving end. In this context, the Give India Foundation extended dry ration support to 86 families under the Family Strengthening programme of the SOS Children’s Village, Bhubaneswar. The needy tribal communities of Krushnangar and Chudang of Daruthenga panchayat of Bhubaneswar block were the beneficiaries. The distribution of ration was done in the presence of schoolteachers, SHG leaders, village youths and community leaders.
A total 10 items of dry ration was provided to each family. “This provision is a great blessing for our families in Krushnanagar. We thank Give India for this support through SOS Children’s Village,” said a community animator, Raibari Singh. Shanti Soy, a caregiver and an SHG leader, expressed her gratitude saying, “This provision of dry ration will meet at least two weeks’ requirements of our families.”
