The police here arrested five persons, including a deceased girl’s father and a doctor in connection with seizure of a body from a forest and forwarded them to court.
The arrested were identified as deceased girl’s father Ajaya Sutar, nursing home doctor Haramani Moharana, two nurses Hemalata Behera and lipika Mohanty and auto driver Abhimanyua Barik.
The police informed that the deceased had gone illegal pregnancy of seven months following an affair with a local youth. Her family fearing loss of social reputation had conducted the girl’s termination in Mamata Nursing Home at Jagatsinghpur town. The deceased girl was brought to the nursing home where Dr Haramani Moharana had performed the abortion assisted by two nurses but strangely due to profuse bleeding at operation table the girl succumbed.
As soon as the family members knew the shocking incident, they did not agree transporting the body to village and decided throwing the body in Dharatangagada forest area. later, the body was transported to Dharatangagada forest in a sack.
